Kentucky turkey hunting - days 8 through 12.

I figured there is no point in posting "no luck" every single day, so I'll just post one big "no luck" post! I can't believe how tough the hunting has been so far. Today is the official halfway mark on the Kentucky season and I am still birdless. With the exception of Mondays, I have been hunting every morning of the season and haven't even got to click the safety off, yet. Cory and I did at least have a close encounter on Sunday when we had two gobblers come in that were answering every call we threw at them. Unfortunately, they must not have liked the B-mobile decoy, because once they seen it, they never made another sound and never came into the setup. Oh, well. I got on what I am guessing was the same two birds yesterday morning, and just like we have been experiencing all season, once they hit the ground, they shut up and never made another peep. Hopefully things will pick up as hens start sitting on their nests and leaving those longbeards all by themselves. As always, we'll keep you posted on how things are going. I also plan to post some pics I've been taking on some of the hunts. Stay tuned!

Tough luck with the birds man! I am managing to squeeze in one hunt this weekend, which is definitely my last this year. I called a jake in to ten yards for my dad already though, so even if I don't get a bird this year I am calling it a successful season. Keep up with the great posts and good luck with the birds! Stop by my site and say hi sometime!

Came here from the OBS. Welcome. We just got back from fishing on Barkley and while we were there my husband was more interested in the turkey we were seeing rather than the fishing.

Good luck!
