Could it be the "Big 8"? Take a look and see what you think!

Hey guys,

Just got my first pictures of the season from the trail cam and I am wondering if one of the bucks I got a picture of could be the same "big 8" I've been watching for over 2 years now. I've never tracked bucks this early in the season, so it's hard for me to look at one at this stage of growth and guess at what he may look like come September. Take a look at the pics below and tell me what you think. The first is from the 2007 season, then one from 2008, and then a recent pic from this past week. Could I be looking at the same deer?

It's hard to tell this early, but based on the way his main beams are flattening out and growing well out past his ears, I would say that is probably him. I'm definitely no expert on this, but my rough estimate from the 2008 picture is that he would gross score about 145". He could easily be pushing 160" when he gets done growing this year.

Thanks Rob. That's funny, cause I guestimated him right around 145" last year, as well. I actually went through the trouble of estimating each point length, main beam length, inside spread, etc. based on ear length, distance between eyes, etc. I hope its him, because he should be a brute this year. I will keep everyone posted as the season progresses!

I hope that is the big boy that falls to your bow this season! I'd venture to say that it is the same deer as well. If he adds anything to his antlers I would bet it is a whole lot of mass instead of length and height. Can't wait to see more pics!

Looking nice! Now you need to disguise yourself as a trail cam and you will get a great shot!
