It seems as though the weeks are slipping by and now deer season is suddenly right around the corner. It's been a few weeks since I posted about our quest and even longer since I posted a webisode. It's not that we've forgotten or abandoned the quest – it's just there hasn't been much to report! We realized very quickly that those videos were getting real boring just going out to check the trail cameras and filling up a feeder – heck, I was bored just editing the footage! We do plan to continue to post webisodes as we get out and do some things to prepare for season. We still have hopes of planting a couple of fall food plots, Poor Boys style. Which means with weedeaters and garden tillers, not big ATVs and Plotmasters. We also will be getting out in the next couple of weeks and hanging stands and trimming shooting lanes. We will be videoing all of this activity and will keep you updated with occasional blog posts and short video clips.
As for what we've been seeing over the last several weeks, let's just say we are very disappointed. While we have a couple of potential shooters on camera, none seem to be moving in a regular pattern. Even the does don't seem to be hitting the feeders at a regular interval. Worst of all, we haven't seen any sign of any of the good bucks from last year. As bad as I hate to, I am going to have to start pulling the trail cameras from our normal spots and moving them around some to see if we can't find a few shooters and start to get some of these deer patterned before the season opens on September 5th.
As always, we will keep you posted of what is going on with Team Poor Boys out in the field. Look for an update soon as we have added quite a few new Prostaff members to video this fall. Our hope is to get enough footage together to produce a Louisville, KY based hunting show that would air in July 2010.

September is certainly right around the corner. I'm glad the Iowa bow season doesn't start until October 1st. It gives me a few extra weeks to get everything ready. I'm sorry to hear about your lack of whitetail action. I hope the deer activity picks up soon for you!!
