Update to hunting season preparations

The last two weekends have been extremely productive as myself, Cory and Billie make the final preparations for the 2009 Kentucky deer season. Last weekend we got two small food plots planted on one farm and hung a couple of stands on another property.

Yesterday we went back and checked on the food plots, and to my surprise, the clover is already popping up all over the field. A few more days of rain over the next three weeks and I think that field is going to look great come deer season. While we were out, we also got a couple more stands hung and checked all of the trail cameras. It's looking really good for being able to get a couple of does under our belt opening weekend, but we just aren't seeing any real good bucks, yet.

About all we have left to take care of is trimming some shooting lanes, which we will probably do sometime next weekend. I'll make sure to get some pics of the food plot while we are out there and post them on here, so keep checking back to follow our progress.

20 days and counting!!!!

I find that the older I get I enjoy all of the prep work before the season as much as the time in the stand. Our season opened here August 15 so all that is left to do is hunt, that is until it's time for the fall plantings. Hope the best for you this season.
